Match Analysis
The TI 2026 Western Qualifier threw up a bracket match between the tournament favourite Team Secret and a resurgent Tundra squad that had dismantled every opponent in the group stage.
Why We Backed Tundra
Group stage form — Tundra came through groups undefeated, with their draft diversity and Skiter’s carry play looking as sharp as at any point in the roster’s history. Secret, by contrast, looked disorganised in their opening series.
Draft flexibility — Tundra showed eight distinct draft archetypes across six series. Secret had been heavily reliant on their comfort heroes, making their strategy more readable.
Value in the odds — Secret’s status as perennial favourites inflated their odds. We assessed Tundra’s true probability at closer to 45–50%, making 2.60 genuine value.
Result
Despite our analysis, Secret adapted well between games and eventually won 2-1. Tundra’s draft in game 3 failed to scale appropriately into the late game. Tip lost. A legitimate upset pick with value, but the result didn’t go our way.
