The International 2026: Format Announced, Prize Pool Projections, and Early Odds — DOTA2 eSports

TI2026 Details Confirmed

Valve has officially announced The International 2026 will take place in Seattle — a return to the game’s spiritual home — from October 15–26, 2026.

Format

The format returns to the beloved double-elimination bracket following community feedback against the Swiss-system experiment:

  • Group Stage: 20 teams, two groups of 10 (round-robin BO2)
  • Main Event: Top 8 from each group to double-elimination bracket
  • Lower Bracket: BO3 throughout
  • Grand Final: BO5

Prize Pool

The Battle Pass launches alongside the announcement. Based on 2025 growth trends, community projections estimate the prize pool will exceed $18 million, with first place taking approximately 45% of the total.

Invited Regions

  • Western Europe: 6 direct invites + 2 qualifier slots
  • China: 4 direct invites + 2 qualifier slots
  • Southeast Asia: 2 direct invites + 2 qualifier slots
  • Eastern Europe / CIS: 2 direct invites + 2 qualifier slots
  • Americas: 2 direct invites

Early Betting Outlook

Team Liquid are the current early-market favourites at most books, sitting at 5.50–6.00. Their consistent performance across this season’s qualifiers has been impressive.

PSG.LGD represent the value pick from the Chinese region at 8.00+. Chinese Dota historically peaks at LAN events and LGD’s experienced roster thrives in the high-pressure bracket format.
